Shooting Leaves 1 Dead At Cinco-De-Mayo Parade

DETROIT (WWJ) – Police confirm that one person is dead after a shooting during the Cinco de Mayo parade in Detroit.

Against the backdrop of an otherwise colorful, peaceful event, shots rang out striking at least two people and killing one.

Authorities say the shootings happened in the area around Vernor and Ferdinand streets in Mexicantown.

Police canceled the remaining portion of the event.
